Manufacturing Software for Metals Companies

Production Planning Software For Metals Companies

A planner has the ability to release orders to production, view and change allocations and order routing, create work orders, split existing work orders, and more.  This allows the planner to achieve effective load balancing across plant work centers.

Additionally, optimization and nesting tools allow the planner to ensure the most efficient and effective use of material.  This allows for minimum material handling, maximum yield and most saleable remnants.

Scheduling Software for Metals Companies

Finite forward scheduling allows for scheduling using multiple parameters, such as gauge, width, customer, carrier, ship date and more.  You may maintain and update the multi-step routing based on capacity and nesting requirements.   Schedule simulations can run what-if scenarios displaying at risk shipment dates.  Orders can be released to production either during sales order entry process or by a production planner.

Production Reporting

Shop floor personnel may record, in real time, actual material consumed, products produced, and material remnants returned to inventory, allowing all relevant dimensional and attribute information to be updated appropriately.  During this process, material and labor costs are computed and captured, providing detailed costing information.  Verticent’s software has integration capability with CNC, scales and other machine programmable controllers to capture and import production reporting data.  Quality and test information captured during the production process can be reported directly into the Verticent application.

Bar-coding and RF

Receiving, shipping and shop floor documents can be bar-coded to support the use of RF hand-held scanners during all inventory-related shop floor transactions.   All inventory-related transactions can be performed using hand-held devices.
