eConfigure enables customers to configure items via your web-site
Verticent eSeries
Supported by the
enterprise application backbone of ERP Plus,
the Verticent eSeries enables a true Integrated
Enterprise Response, allowing you to better
respond to the needs of your customers,
suppliers, and partners around the world, 24 x
7. Together, ERP Plus and the eSeries
successfully complete the enterprise loop from
back-office to front-office - and open your
entire enterprise to the world of e-business.
The eSeries consists of eConfigure, eView, eOrder, eCRM and eDashboard. Accessible via the Web from any common browser, each component is integrated with ERP Plus to provide Web access to critical enterprise information. The link between your enterprise and your customers is now complete - and strong. The eSeries does more than simply post data-points to a Web site, it shares actionable enterprise information via two-way communications between your company and the supply chain.
eConfigure
eConfigure is
designed to provide Web-based product
configuration capabilities to small-to-midsize
manufacturers and distributors. Developed with
direct assistance from a volunteer group of
Verticent customers, who demonstrated dynamic
configuration needs, eConfigure allows you to
establish your corporate Web site as an online
product configuration tool for your
customers.
eConfigure accommodates today's dynamic configuration requirements - allowing online customers to create items they need, in real-time, via your Web site.
Configure items via
the web
The
link between your back-office and your online
customers now provides a common e-business
interface for configuring products over the Web.
eConfigure adds the power of Web-based
customer-configured items to the order entry
process.
The configuration simulation process allows internal users to easily create and test various item configurations. Internal users can access eConfigure, perform a test configuration and view configuration costs, margins and percentage margins (with hyperlinks to more detailed cost breakdowns based on materials, labor and overhead). Finally, once an online customer has configured an item, they may place that order on hold for confirmation later, when they are ready to place the order. This allows the customer, and you, to review configured Web orders prior to processing.
With eConfigure, you can place customer-created Web orders on hold and view those orders via Verticent's ERP Plus suite. ERP Plus users can review these orders before they impact your production schedule, and then any Web-configured orders can easily be released and scheduled. eConfigure also allows you to partially ship Web-configured orders.
Specifications Options
and
Rules
Powered by an
unlimited number of user-defined specifications,
options and rules - eConfigure eliminates the
task of searching through an extensive list of
products, product numbers or product options to
find a specific item. If you offer a wide array
of products, eConfigure provides your customers,
partners and sales representatives with a
Web-based tool for quickly configuring the exact
items they need.
In eConfigure, every specification is a grouping of options, and each specification may be set up as a range, quantity or a pre-defined attribute set, such as 'color.' Options are listed beneath specifications - for example 'red,' 'blue' and 'green' may comprise the options beneath the specification 'color.' Rules are engineering mechanisms that build a Bill of Materials (BOM) and manufacturing routing for configured items. Rules take online customers from a generic product BOM with few details to the precise product they configured via the Web.
Cost
Plus-Pricing
Convenient
cost-plus pricing enables you to associate
profit margins with materials, labor or overhead
for configured items. The final order price that
eConfigure calculates for the item will use
these defined, associated percentages.
Also, each time an order is placed for a previously configured item, the cost is automatically and conveniently recalculated. This cost is recalculated based on current price adders in eConfigure, and updating option price adders will automatically update all subsequent item order costs.
Formula
Logic
eConfigure employs
powerful formula logic that simplifies the
configuration and ordering process where
detailed calculations are required. When your
company offers products in different dimensions - lengths, widths, thickness, etc. - eConfigure
provides a rules and formula engine that ensures
the validity of the configured products. And
when specific configuration conditions occur,
eConfigure will add an operation to the routing,
calculate its set up and run time, roll up the
cost, price and margin, and insert special
instructions that appear on documents such as
work orders, pick lists or invoices.
eSeries Flexibility and
Technology
The
eSeries customization capabilities enable you to
easily match your eSeries applications to the
established style of your corporate Web site.
From within eSeries you can create and maintain
layout styles, menu placements, fonts and colors - with no HTML skills required. Simple WYSIWYG
modification of the eSeries helps ease the
set-up process and reduces maintenance costs.
The eSeries was built following the Microsoft Distribution interNetworking Architecture (DNA) utilizing COM business logic components, Active Server Pages (ASP) and ADO data access through browser-independent Web interfaces.
